Logistics Controller

Purpose:

The Logistics Controller’s main responsibility will be to ensure the efficient, timely, and compliant movement of goods by managing shipping processes, logistics partners, costs, and systems, while supporting smooth daily operations and continuous improvement across the logistics function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, optimize, and implement procedures and policies governing all logistics functions.
  • Monitor shipping timelines, lead times, and delivery performance to meet customer and operational expectations.
  • Negotiate rates, SLAs, and service terms with new and existing logistics partners.
  • Manage logistics budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Maintain accurate data for tracking, reporting, and shipment management.
  • Provide comprehensive reports to the COO on logistics performance, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience in logistics coordination, freight management, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Additional Information:

The position is full-time, with offices based in Woodstock, Cape Town. Start Date: January/February 2025.
